The notion that was Kinsale’s First Ladies finally came to fruition last September when the girls who were involved in different sides of Kinsale’s RFC decided that they wanted a piece of the clubs new found glory.

They are now a fully integrated part of the club training twice a week on a under the steady and capable hands of Pat O’Reagan, Daniel Kiely, Danny O’Connell and Eoin O’Callaghan, President of Kinsale RFC. Night of The Jack L

jack lJack L and his band truly rocked Kinsale’s White Lady on Saturday night.

The gig was filled with trademark energetic dramatics, as Jack L stood on chairs, ran through the crowd mid-song and even slow danced with his own jacket. The black-clad, broody-eyed singer gave a performance so powerful his microphone seemed at times superfluous.

The White Lady niteclub is no longer just for late night dancing, but has proved itself to be the up and coming live music venue in the county.

We look forward to seeing loads more big names in live music perform there.

There are a few tickets left available at the White Lady for €25 but if you want to see the show you’d better hurry…

Jack first realised his talent whilst as a trainee mechanic he would sing in the garage. He travelled to Germany with the band Serious Women where he first met the members of The Black Romantics his early backing band. He first became popular in the summer of 1995 when he and The Black Romantics took up a residence at The Da Club in Dublin. Word of mouth spread and the small venue was soon turning people away. The band played mostly covers of Jacques Brel songs, with one or two of Jack’s own, and recorded the album Wax in 1995. Jack eventually split with the Black Romantics and went solo. Read more »

Kinsale Rugby Club Make History

Kinsale rugbyA remarkable 10 out of 10 was the result on Kinsale Rugby’s score card after a very tough league campaign.

The first team were delighted to be promoted but to do it unbeaten added an extra dimension to their delight.

Charleville provided the opposition on the day. They were in no. 2 position to Kinsale before this encounter which took place
at Snug more. Both teams are now heading to division 2 next season.

The ladies of Kinsale were busy on the day preparing a lunch for the President and Committee members, Trustees, Sponsors, and Charleville all enjoyed the hospitality.

The main event was a nail biting encounter with Charleville refusing to lie down. However Kinsale did the business on the day and are still battling hard to add more silverware before the season ends.
