Paddy McNicholl

Paddy McNicholl of Connolly’s of Leap has passed away.

Update — Reposing at his residence, Connolly’s Bar, Leap today, Wednesday, from 6pm to 8pm, followed by removal to St Mary’s Parish Church. Liturgy of the Word tomorrow, Holy Thursday, at 12 noon. Funeral immediately afterwards to Kilfachtnabeg Cemetery, Glandore —

A great patron of music and musician, his vision brought many a famous player to the small village of Leap in West Cork. All who had the pleasure of spending as little as 10 minutes looking at Connolly’s poster covered walls, would have been left with a great impression of his knowledge and appreciation.

Roy Harper, John Martyn, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Hothouse Flowers, David Gray, Glen Hansard and Mic Christopher are just a small sampling of the artists who had the pleasure of playing Connolly’s.

Paddy was also a mentor and friend to all of Kinsale’s musicians, many of whom got their start in Connolly’s.

Connolly’s has been closed for a few years but its legacy and Paddy’s will be everlasting. Funeral this Thursday, April 1st, details to follow.

Search Continues for Missing Kinsale Woman

Update — The search for missing girl Ela is still ongoing. The next organised walk will take place on Tuesday 30th March at 12 noon. Meanwhile if you are out walking, please keep a watchful eye for any information on Ela. —

Gardaí in Kinsale are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 25-year-old Elzbieta Ewa Konik.

Elzbieta was last seen in Kinsale at approximately 6pm on Wednesday 10 March.

She is described as being 5’5″ (1.66m) tall. She has brown eyes and blond/brown shoulder length hair.

When last seen she was wearing black/grey jeans, a black coat and brown shoes.
