Clare O’Leary Comes To Kinsale
Antarctic explorer Dr Clare O’Leary has accepted Kinsale Fairtrade invitation to come to Kinsale by the Fairtrade sign, Kilcaw, on Saturday 19th of April at 12 noon. All are welcome.
On Tuesday 18th May 2004 O’Leary, from Bandon, Co Cork became the first ever Irish woman to reach the summit of Everest. She also became the first woman to reach the South Pole. Dr O’Leary is a keen Fairtrade supporter and a great role model so please join her this Saturday.
Kinsale became Ireland’s 2nd Fairtrade town in 2005 and in October 2007 was awarded Ireland’s best Fairtrade Town. Over 25 local outlets sell fairtrade products, thus ensuring that the people of the third world receive a fairprice for what they produce.
