June 17, 2009 by editor
Jodavino & Lerner play The Spinnaker as part of a double headline show, this Sunday 21st June in Kinsale.
Jodavino’s debut album, Deep End, was released in September 2006 and received glowing reviews nationally. The band toured the album over a period of 14 months. The highlights of this tour included a sell out gig at Cork’s Everyman Palace and being invited to open up for Roxy Music and Lionel Richie at Cork’s famed Live at the Marquee. The band received extensive airplay nationally, especially in Cork, where the song Move Me earned the title of best song of the year from listeners of RED Fm.
Lerner released their debut album Still Waiting in November 2005 which was recorded in the foothills of Ventry, Co. Kerry with producer Karl Odlum (the Frames, Mic Christopher, Gemma Hayes, Ham Sandwich). The band were named in Today FM’s top 10 New Irish Artists of the year in 2006. Following on from the release and a string of high profile support slots with The Frames & Kila, the band retired to a farmhouse studio in West Cork, once again with Karl Odlum, to record their 2nd album Calm Road. This new record holds 11 tracks with an edgy feel, reflecting the bands raw studio energy.
