Kinsale Arts Week
July 7, 2009 by editor
Kinsale is set to welcome over 20,000 people onto its streets for its fifth annual Kinsale Arts Week. Visitors can listen to poetry whilst at sea with Theo Dorgan or be served a meal by eccentric waiting staff at The Faulty Towers Dining Experience.
Visual artist Brian O’Doherty is set to showcase a specially commissioned outdoor installation at Charles Fort, whilst rockabilly queen Imelda May and the infamous Paul Brady will be belting out the tunes on stage at the remarkable natural outdoor amphitheatre. BBC World Music Award winner Terrafolk will be joined on stage by Cork-born violinist Una Palliser, who has performed with the likes of Elbow and Take That, with Dublin-based band Prison Love playing support. Award-winning comedian David O’Doherty will also be entertaining with his minature keyboard and quirky tunes.
As ever, there will be a wide variety of activities for children and teenagers at the festival, including the return of the ever popular Street Day.
