The ‘First Ladies’ of Kinsale at the White House
The Kinsale Ladies Rugby Team, or “First Ladies” as they prefer to be known as, are the first Kinsale ladies team to play in the Heineken Kinsale Rugby 7’s tournament.
The notion that was Kinsale’s First Ladies finally came to fruition last September when the girls who were involved in different sides of Kinsale’s RFC decided that they wanted a piece of the clubs new found glory.
They are now a fully integrated part of the club training twice a week on a under the steady and capable hands of Pat O’Reagan, Daniel Kiely, Danny O’Connell and Eoin O’Callaghan, President of Kinsale RFC. The Club is delighted to have state of the art Jerseys from O’B Sports sponsored by The White House, “you can even see it we play teams and they are wearing cotton jerseys two sizes too big, we look the part”.
After the 7’s girls will be playing tag rugby in the pre season and then entered into the Munster Ladies Division. The First Ladies short term goal is to win the Kinsale Rugby 7’s Ladies Division and bring a little glamour to the tournament while doing it. Pictured are Emma Dunne, Marion Gabriel and Ananda Mann and these ‘First Ladies’ are going to make sure they are the first ladies of 7s rugby.
